Is HighBeam.com a scam? I was sent an unsolicited email offering a 'free' seven day trial. They purport to be an up-scale search engine. When I tried to register for the 7 day 'free trial' I was asked a whole load of questions (including address, password, etc. etc) then finally, to give ALL my credit card details. In the 'terms of conditions', I was told that THE ONUS WAS ON ME to cancel my subscription, or I would be charged their monthly fee!
Now I wouldn't dream of giving my banking details to a Nigerian 'offer', so why them? Who would? Would you?
It is extremely difficult to contact them directly as the link to the 'contact us' tag is in the form of a FAQ list.
Whilst the home page and presentation appears professional, something doesn't quite gel, like those bogus websites selling tickets to music concerts and sporting events.
Could you find out for us?
Yeah its a big scam, don't fall for them
